The victim was shot repeatedly, on the 2000 block of South Simpson Street, around 10:30 Sunday night
Investigators tell Action News that the gunman fired seven shots while trying to rob the victim. Three of the bullets struck him in the chest.
Police arrived to find the man bleeding on the street. He was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooter fled and has not been caught.
