Alma Brito, 49, was found dead inside the home in the 3000 block of Hartford Road around 11:00 a.m. Monday.
Brito was found by a family member, police said, who called police.
Her cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, but police say she is "clearly the victim of a homicide."
Investigators said it appears she had been dead for some time.
