A crew from the Public Works Department in Wayne made the discovery at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday as they were cleaning up the North Wayne Field.
Several hateful words and symbols were spray-painted on a brick building adjacent to the field.
Radnor Township police say they are working hard to catch the people responsible.
"We have a zero-tolerance policy for all types of graffiti, but especially graffiti that has any kind of hate message attached to it," Radnor Township Police Superintendent William Colarulo told Action News.
"We're going to look for these kids or whoever is responsible, and I assure you that if anyone has any information or if they were involved, they should come forward immediately to prevent being charged with a hate crime," he said.
The graffiti has been removed from the building.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to contact Radnor Township Police immediately.
