Tacony dungeon suspects to face fewer charges

PHILADELPHIA - June 8, 2012

A judge on Friday found no evidence that the three were the victims' caretakers. That means they will no longer be charged with neglect of a care-dependent person.

But Linda Weston, Gregory Thomas and Eddie Wright will still face trial on kidnapping, conspiracy, assault and other charges.

Prosecutors say Weston's group kept mentally challenged adults locked in basements, closets and attics over 10 years until a landlord found the malnourished victims locked in a boiler room in October.

Wright's lawyers say he's a victim, not a captor, but a judge has upheld the charges against the street preacher.
