World-famous chefs raise money for Alex's Lemonade - 6at4

PHILADELPHIA - June 13, 2012

"I am always kind of humbled by all of the chefs who make it out here," Marc Vetri, " they were all saying we look forward to this event all year long."

Each culinary star is serving up a signature dish. Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto whipped up his whitefish carpaccio.

These top chefs also shared their best summer entertaining tips for the rest of us home chefs.

Jose Garces says we should keep it simple.

"Cook fresh. Cook light. Just a little lemon juice! Good quality EVOO and sea salt is all you will need this summer," Garces says. "It's all about the olive oil. That's it!"

While his baking made him famous, Duff Goldman who was on the TV show "Ace Of Cakes" says you should make spreads the star of your spread.

"It's all about the dips, I love dips!" Goldman says. "We love our dips, because it's summertime. Get some white beans, puree them with garlic-roasted eggplants. Puree them. Get some favas, get some chick peas and make some humus."

Michael Solomov of Zahav fame shared a fun and seasonal summer dessert.

"I'll take strawberries and rhubarb and half the weight of those with sugar and boil it with rosewater," Solomov explains. "It's the best. Put it on everything; it's good with ice cream; great on lamb - everything."

Top Chef winner Kevin Sbraga's best tip at the grill? Let the seasoning sink into the food!

"When you season ahead of time, it has time to penetrate and let the seasoning go all the way through. A lot of people skip that and they season fast. That's not good. You have to let it rest."
