The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. along the 1200 block of South 53rd Street.
Authorities say two males approached the victim, who resides in the home, and an argument broke out.
Police say the argument escalated to one of the two males pulling out a gun and firing one shot striking the victim, believed to be in his late teens, in the chest while he was standing in the doorway of his home.
Medics responded and rushed the victim to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition.
Police are searching for the suspects.
