Woman arrested in Claymont motel homicide

CLAYMONT, Del. - June 20, 2012

Detectives Tuesday arrested 48-year-old Sherry Jackson and charged her with murder first degree, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited.

She was arraigned and then committed to the Department of Corrections without bail.

52-year-old Theodore Tucker was found dead inside a room at the Riverview Motel on Monday morning.

Police say during the search of the room, detectives discovered personal items belonging to Sherry Jackson as well as the possible weapon used in the murder.

Detectives then began searching for Jackson and were able to locate her in the 500 block of West 6th Street in Wilmington.

She was then taken into custody without incident.
