Amtrak service from D.C. to Phila. restored

PHILADELPHIA - June 30, 2012

Service was been suspended due to Friday night's severe storms.

Trees and wires crashed down onto the tracks at several locations, making the railroad impassable.

More than 200 passengers who were stuck on a train for hours in West Virginia finally made it home.

People who paid but were not able to travel are eligible for a refund or a travel voucher. Some tickets booked online that were not printed can be modified or canceled at Amtrak.com or by using the free Amtrak mobile app.

For more information, passengers are encouraged to call 800-USA-RAIL or visit Amtrak.com/alerts for Service Alerts and Passenger Notices.

Schedule information and train status updates are available at the Amtrak.com home page.
