The woman, who was in her early 50s, was found dead in her home in Glassboro home after officials received a 911 call about the shooting around 10:20 p.m. Monday.
Authorities said the man was arrested in Pittsgrove Township early Tuesday morning after a brief foot chase with police. He was in the crisis unit at Underwood-Memorial Hospital in Woodbury.
Authorities have not released the name of either the suspect or the victim, saying they must first notify all her family members.
