It was around 5:20 a.m. when a report came out for an overturned dump truck in the northbound lanes of Route 42 near Route 168.
The truck overturned into the median but spilled its load of sand along the inner lane.
According to New Jersey State Police, the accident occurred when a previous single-vehicle crash caused traffic to slow down on the highway.
The dump truck was unable to slow down in time and struck a minivan, causing the truck to overturn.
Only minor injuries have been reported.
