Man arrested after Claymont bank robbery

CLAYMONT, Del. - July 11, 2012

Kenneth L. Wilson III of Wilmington is facing a number of charges, including robbery, conspiracy, and possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

The charges stem from an incident that happened on Saturday at the WSFS bank branch in the Superfresh, located at 2105 Philadelphia Pike.

According to police, Wilson approached the bank tellers and presented a note which demanded money. The tellers complied, turning over an undisclosed amount of cash. Wilson then fled the store on foot.

Wilson was later located in a room at the Econo Lodge Motel, located in the 19000 block of Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he was taken into custody without incident. Also in the room was 48-year-old Karen L. Knorr or Wilmington. She too was taken into custody.

After securing the area a search of the room turned up 74 bags of heroin, totaling 1.85 grams. Drug paraphernalia was also found.

Wilson was charged and then committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $45,000 Secured Bond. Knorr was charged with the same drug related offenses that Wilson now faces.
