Over 12 displaced after lightning strike in Delaware

MARSHALLTON, Del. - July 15, 2012

It happened around 8:00 Sunday evening in the Villages of Clay Creek along Melson Drive.

Authorities believe that lightning struck the rooftop of the three-story building causing a fire.

Fire officials at the scene tell Action News that the strike also hit a water pipe which served to douse the flames.

Fire crews say the building sustained water damage as a result.

Over a dozen residents were evacuated from the building and remain displaced.
