The 33-year-old man was shot around 1:30 a.m. along the 2100 block of North Natrona Street.
He was shot in the face and chest and when police arrived they found him holding a hand gun.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and is listed in critical but stable condition.
Police say, the man will be held for questioning.
There is no word on suspects or a motive for the shooting.
