Man, teen wounded in Philly playground shooting

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - August 3, 2012

Police say shots were fired from at least two guns at the Penrose Playground shortly after 10:00 p.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived they found a 16-year-old boy shot once in the buttocks and a 27-year-old man with wounds to his chest, arm and leg.

The man is in critical condition at Temple University Hospital and the teenager is in stable condition.

Police have found 14 shell casings fired from a .45-caliber handgun and a 9mm handgun inside the playground and on the sidewalk.

It's not known what motivated the shootings.
