It happened around 1:30 Saturday morning near the intersection of Route 47 and Indian Trail in Middle Township.
The driver lost control of the car and the impact of the crash trapped the driver inside the vehicle for almost an hour.
Firefighters successfully freed the occupant who was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Police are not sure what caused the driver to lose control.
