Man goes to trial in drunken bicycling case

CANONSBURG, Pa. (AP) - August 7, 2012

The Observer-Reporter of Washington, Pa. reports a Peters Township district judge on Monday ordered 44-year-old John Pardini, of Upper St. Clair, to stand trial on charges that also include resisting arrest, public drunkenness and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Peters Officer William Woods testified he was involved in another traffic stop when he saw Pardini wobbling on his bike nearby and stopped him, too.

Woods says Pardini acknowledged having a few beers and was carrying a six-pack in a brown bag at the time.

Police say Pardini's blood-alcohol content was 0.097 percent, or slightly above the 0.08 percent limit for drivers.
