Green Jobs program teaches teens about environment

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - August 8, 2012

Ten teens are participating in the program, which is a joint effort by the University of Delaware, the city of Wilmington and six other organizations. This summer marks the second year for the six-week program.

Activities include a visit to a water treatment plant, learning how to make maps and how scientists use geographic information. The students have also removed invasive plants from a wildlife refuge, netted aquatic creatures in Lewes and visited a dairy run by the university.
