Starbucks has partnered with mobile payments company Square.
This fall, Square will start processing all credit and debit card transactions at Starbucks stores in the United States.
To pay, you first have to show the cashier a bar code on your phone. But eventually, your phone will automatically notify the store that you've entered, and your name and photo will appear on the register.
Just say your name, the cashier will match your photo and your payment will be complete.
Customers can continue to use Starbucks' own mobile payment app. The neat thing about Pay with Square is you don't have to take your phone out of your pocket or sign a receipt.
