NJ speedway driver dies of apparent heart attack

PLUMSTED, N.J. (AP) - August 20, 2012

News 12 New Jersey reports that first-year driver Scott Doty had been revived by emergency medical technicians Saturday night but then died.

Ryan Miscoski, a son of track co-owner Bill Miscoski, tells News 12 that Doty apparently was stricken while he was racing in the infield. Miscoski says Doty then panicked and drove into the pit stop area.

Bill Miscoski tells the television station that Doty struck a tow truck and a concrete wall but did not hit anyone else at the track in Ocean County.
