The Daily Local News of West Chester says 47-year-old Heather DeLong of Glen Mills was sentenced Wednesday in Chester County Court to 14 to 28 months in prison followed by seven years on probation.
DeLong had pleaded guilty in June to aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, and in exchange prosecutors dropped other charges.
Defense attorney Stephen Schukraft had asked the judge to sentence his client to a drug and alcohol treatment center and house arrest.
Trooper Chad Burgwald, who was hospitalized after the Dec. 29 accident in New Garden Township, told the court that he felt lucky to be alive.
