Philadelphia cop kills driver after being dragged

Officials are investigating a deadly police-involved shooting in West Philadelphia late Thursday night.

The shooting happened just after 11:00 p.m. on the 500 block of North 65th Street.

Police say they saw a driver acting suspiciously and pulled him over.

He tried to drive off, dragging the police officer in the process.

Police fired shots and the 35-year-old driver was hit.

He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.

The police officers were not seriously hurt.

Philadelphia Police say the Internal Affairs Department is investigating.
