Dump truck driver rescued near Cooper River in Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. - September 4, 2012

It happened at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the dump truck and a car collided on the Admiral Wilson Boulevard, causing the truck to leave the road, plunge down an embankment and crash into a creek connected to the Cooper River.

The driver was able to get out of the truck and was not seriously injured.

Rescue crews had to use a ladder to reach him.

Crews remained on the scene working to pull the dump truck up out of the ravine and back onto the road.

The condition of the driver of the car that collided with the truck has not been released.
