Swimmers are urged to use caution because of a high risk of rip currents along the New Jersey shore.

Tropical Storm Leslie is beginning to churn up the ocean just as many shore towns have fewer or no lifeguards on duty following the summer tourism season.

The National Weather Service is predicting a surf height of 3 to 5 feet.

Atlantic City's beach patrol has been restricting swimmers to knee-deep water.
