Feds: Phila. cop used fake scripts to get painkillers

PHILADELPHIA - September 6, 2012

Federal investigators say 22nd District Officer Andre Daniels, 41, of Philadelphia, acquired the painkiller oxycodone 14 times between June 2009 and January 2010 using fake prescriptions.

If convicted on all counts, prosecutors say Daniels could face up to 56 years in prison and more than $3.5 million in fines.

Daniels, a 15-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department, has been suspended for thirty days with the intent to dismiss.
