Robbers strike again in Del. shopping center

WILMINGTON, Del. - September 18, 2012

The robberies all took place at the Canby Park Shopping Center located at 1900 Maryland Avenue.

Police say the latest incident took place on Monday, September 17th around 3:45pm when a 34-year-old woman was walking in the rear driveway of the shopping center.

She was confronted by two male suspects who attempted to remove the personal property that she was carrying.

According to police, a struggle occurred between the victim and suspects and that's when one suspect showed a gun.

The suspects dragged the victim to the ground and attempted to steal a case containing a laptop computer.

An unknown observer that was in the area began to scream and shout causing the suspects to flee.

The suspects were unsuccessful in removing the laptop but fled with undisclosed property.

The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The first incident happened on August 31st and involved an 35-year-old male, and the second robbery on September 6th was a 30-year-old male victim.

On Saturday, September 8th, two men; a 50-year-old and a 18-year-old were robbed.

In each robbery, the suspects have pointed a gun and demanded money from the victims.

So far, there have been no reports of any injuries.

Police say there were two suspects in the robbery on September 6th and the descriptions of the suspects are the same in all four robberies.

The suspects are described as black males, 16-20 years of age, 5'4"- 6'01" tall,150 lbs. and thin build.

They were wearing dark or black clothing and armed with an unknown handgun.

In the robbery on the 6th, the suspects had dark scarves covering their faces.

"Troopers urge the public to be alert and safe. Walk in pairs or groups, especially after dark. Avoid congregating or walking through dark or unlit areas. Be aware of your surroundings and conceal your valuables."
