Former University of Delaware professor remains missing

NEWARK, Del. - September 17, 2012

64-year-old John Dohms of the 100 block of East Cleveland Street was last seen around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, and was reported missing on Friday when he failed to return home.

He is described as a white male, 6'1" tall and 165 lbs. with gray hair and blue eyes.

Dohms, who suffers from dementia, was last seen wearing a bright green button down shirt, khaki shorts, and green socks with white tennis shoes. He wears a medic alert bracelet on his left wrist and police say he may also have a set of binoculars in his possession.

Dohms is also known to frequent the trails in and around White Clay Creek State Park. In fact, police say Dohms was seen walking northbound on Creek Road into White Clay Creek State Park at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, the day he went missing.

Police say he is also known to frequent stores in and around Main Street and Pomeroy Trails.
