The crash happened at the intersection of 49th and Haverford around 10:30 a.m.
The 16th district officer struck a vehicle that was turning onto 49th Street, authorities said.
The driver of that car, a 44-year-old man, was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with chest and stomach injuries.
The officer was also taken to HUP for head, neck and back pain.
Both are expected to be treated and released.
The identities of those involved have not been released.
