2 firefighters rescued battling blaze in Delco.

Two firefighters were in need of rescue while battling a blaze in Chester, Pennsylvania early Friday morning.

The 2-alarm fire broke out around 1:00 a.m. on the 2900 block of West 3rd Street.

Officials say, a propane tank exploded unexpectedly, trapping the firefighters on the roof of the house.

Rescue crews used ladders to bring the firefighters to safety.

Both were checked out at the scene and didn't need to be hospitalized.

The house was occupied at the time but there are no reports of any injuries.

The investigation continues.
