The shooting occurred around 9:45 p.m. on the 400 block of S. DuPont Highway.
Police say 23-year-old Maurice Jones was shot multiple times in the parking lot of the Galloway Court Apartments and pronounced dead at the scene.
New Castle police are leading the investigation and sorting out details to find a motive and the shooter.
