Officer struck by vehicle in Germantown

Philadelphia Police tell Action News that an officer has been struck by a vehicle in the Germantown section of the city.

It happened at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Chelten Avenue and Kenyon Street.

Images from Chopper 6 HD over the scene showed an injured officer being placed onto a stretcher.

The officer was sitting up, appeared conscious, and did not appear to be seriously injured.

But there has been no official word yet on the officer's condition.

There is no word if police have been able to locate the vehicle that struck the officer.
