Officer found not guilty in teen stun-gun incident

MEDIA, Pa. - October 24, 2012

Prosecutors accused former Colwyn police Cpl. Trevor Parham of using a stun gun on an underage suspect inside a holding cell then used the acronym for "laughing out loud" in a text-message exchange with a fellow officer afterward. Prosecutors also say the arrest was unlawful.

Parham was subsequently charged with simple assault and official oppression. His bench trial wrapped up last week and Delaware County Judge Kevin Kelly handed down his not guilty verdict Wednesday morning.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports Parham's attorney called the charges politically motivated.
