Mystery of stolen cash from Philly-bound plane solved

PHILADELPHIA - October 24, 2012

Officials say 20-thousand dollars of new-style, uncirculated 100-dollar bills were taken from a U.S. Airways flight back on October 11th.

The plane had been carrying 3.2-million dollars worth of the bills.

The missing money went unnoticed until the transport van arrived at the Federal Reserve in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

On Tuesday, federal agents put U.S. Airways baggage handler 25-year-old Alex Price to a lie detector test.

Agents say Price confessed and led them to the stash he had been hiding in his car.

All the money was recovered.
