Halloween cancellations, postponements due to Sandy

A number of communities have postponed or cancelled Halloween activities due to Hurricane Sandy.

Here is what has been sent to Action News so far. This list will be updated as new information comes in, so be sure to check back often.

NEW JERSEY:

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has signed an executive order postponing Halloween until Monday, November 5

PHILADELPHIA:

  • City of Philadelphia: No postponement - trick or treat if you think it is safe
  • Friends of Seger Park - Festival canceled
  • Please Touch Museum - Trick-or-Treating postponed to Friday, November 2
  • PENNSYLVANIA:

    Bucks County

    • Buckingham Township: not postponed, up to neighborhoods
    • Falls Twp. is recommending residents postpone Halloween Trick or Treating until Saturday, November 3
    • Doylestown Twp. - Up to the individual neighborhoods
    • Bensalem - on, but use extra caution
    • Bristol Twp., Pa - asks residents to postpone until Wed., November 7. Township will be under curfew until weekend, due to large power loss
    • Lower Southampton ? postponed to next Wednesday, November 7
    • Middletown Twp. - postponed till Wednesday,?November 7; Encouraging parents to take kids to Oxford Valley Mall tonight (October 31) for trick-or-treat
    • Morrisville - Postponed until further notice.
    • Newtown Borough - Recommending parents wait until Wednesday, November 7
    • Northampton Township - postponed until Wednesday, November 7
    • Perkasie: not postponed
    • Quakertown: not postponed
    • Richland Township: postponed until November 3
    • Upper Southampton ? discouraging trick-or-treat until Saturday, November 3
    • Warrington Twp.: postponed until Saturday, November 3, from 2pm to 5pm
