Police: 2 dead, 1 injured in fiery Del. accident

NEW CASTLE, Del. - November 8, 2012

The accident happened shortly before 3:00 p.m. at Christiana Road (Route 273) and Appleby Road in New Castle.

Police say 67-year-old John C. Quigley was behind the wheel when he had a minor accident on the roadway.

Immediately after the crash, Quigley kept driving and his vehicle struck a 2012 Nissan Altima that was stopped in the left lane.

The impact caused a chain reaction, sending the Nissan into a Ford F-150 and into a nearby intersection.

The Nissan sparked into flames and both the driver and the passenger inside were pronounced dead at the scene.

Quigly was taken to Christiana Hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the F-150 and his two passengers were not injured.

No word on the identity of the deceased victims.
