Pa. child critical after storm drain rescue

DUNMORE, Pa. - November 12, 2012

Dunmore police say the child was being carried by its mother's boyfriend when it was dropped Saturday night. Police Chief Pat Reese says the toddler fell about five feet into a drain.

An officer who arrived at the scene unsuccessfully tried squeezing into the space but firefighters were able to reach the unconscious child using rescue tools.

Reese says the child was listed in critical condition at a nearby hospital on Sunday. He did not release the child's name.
