Liberty Place gingerbread house display

PHILADELPHIA - November 13, 2012 The entire family will enjoy these 10 deliciously magnificent gingerbread houses handcrafted by Philadelphia chefs and modeled after Fairmount Park historic sites. The Gingerbread House Display is free and open to the public on Mondays - Saturdays, 9:30 am - 7pm and Sundays, 12 - 6 pm.

The Gingerbread House Display is a preview event for the annual Historic Houses of Fairmount Park Holiday Tours, December 1 - 9, 2012. The tours of the Charms of Fairmount Park, a cherished Philadelphia tradition, will feature five of the park's treasured charms - Laurel Hill, Lemon Hill, Mount Pleasant, Ormiston, and Woodford mansions - festively decorated to create a stunning holiday experience.

The Holiday Gingerbread House Display remains on view in the Rotunda from November 12-16. The Holiday Gingerbread House Display then moves to The Shops at Liberty Place 16th and Chestnut Streets entrance until December 9. Passersby can peer into the window display or venture inside to examine these beautiful holiday creations.

The five Park Houses participating in the Holiday Tours will be open and decorated for the holidays from November 28 to December 16. Trolley Tours of the houses are available on December 1, 2, 7, 8, & 9. Between stops at the houses, knowledgeable guides will narrate the trolley ride through Fairmount Park with engaging stories of the histories of the houses and their owners.
