Most serious counts dropped in Delco hit-run crash

MEDIA, Pa. - November 17, 2012

Former Delaware County Assistant District Attorney Michael Donohue, of Haverford, was acquitted Friday of aggravated assault and driving under the influence charges.

The 32-year-old defendant is still on trial for simple assault, leaving the scene, and other minor counts. A jury will consider the remaining charges against him on Monday.

The 14-year-old boy suffered a broken leg and pelvis and bleeding on his brain from the November 2011 incident. He was hospitalized and missed three months of school.

Prosecutor Joseph McGettigan contended Donohue was out drinking with co-workers the night of the crash.

Donohue's defense attorney said his client was not drunk.
