Firefighters arrived in the 800 block of North 16th Street at 5:11 a.m. Monday.
They found a small fire burning at the back door of a home.
Fire officials say it appears rubbish had been stacked against the back door of the home and set ablaze.
Crews had the fire out within minutes. No one was injured.
The Philadelphia Fire Marshal is investigating.
