Pa. man, 73, gets life in neighbor dispute killing

MEDIA, Pa. (AP) - December 5, 2012

A Delaware County judge ordered James Dellavecchia to spend life plus at least seven years behind bars for the October 2011 killing of Scott Robins.

Judge Michael Coll says Dellavecchia is a "cold-blooded murderer" who is guaranteed to never be paroled.

Investigators say Dellavecchia waited for Robins to leave for work, then shot him four times. Robins' stepdaughter was also wounded after coming outside.

Authorities say Dellavecchia and Robins were feuding over a shed Robins was building. Dellavecchia had complained to police about the noise but Robins had permits for the work and was building during normal hours.

Dellavecchia's attorney says an appeal is planned.
