Suspect sought in Germantown store burglary

GERMANTOWN - December 24, 2012

It was 6:00 a.m. last Thursday when the man forced himself through a basement door to the Tavares Grocery Store, located at 364 East Chelten Avenue.

Cameras captured images of the man as he crawled his way behind the counter. The man then grabbed a number of cigarette pack and money from the register before fleeing the scene.

Police say the haul is valued at approximately $800.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years-of-age, scruffy beard, medium complexion, stocky build, wearing a dark knit hat, dark hooded jacket, blue jeans and black/white sneakers.
