Gas odor prompts evacuations in Montgomery County, Pa.

BLUE BELL, Pa. - January 2, 2013

First responders were called to Lantern Lane in Blue Bell, Pa. Wednesday morning after reports of a gas odor.

Firefighters went door to door and evacuated eight occupied homes.

By 1:30 p.m. PECO crews determined that the odor was in fact to due a gas leak and had identified the source of that leak.

PECO expected the repair to be completed by 3:30 p.m.

No customers lost gas service as a result of the leak.
