Wilmington gas leak secured, evacuations cancelled

WILMINGTON, Del. - January 8, 2013

The fire department, police and Delmarva crews were called out around 12:00 p.m. to the 900 block of North Shipley Street.

It was there that police say a gas line was struck during construction, which consequently lead to the leak.

That leak has since been secured and those evacuated were allowed to return.

All roadways have re-opened with the exception of the 900 block of North Shipley Street.

Delmarva remains at the scene.
