Police seek to ID suspect in store owner killing

NEWPORT, Del. - January 9, 2013

Hemantkumar Chauhan, 57, was killed inside the Penn Bantam Market at 418 Newport Gap Pike in Newport back on November 2nd.

State Police say Chauhan was confronted by a man armed with a knife.

The suspect jumped behind the counter and demanded money. A struggle ensued and the suspect stabbed Chauhan in the chest.

The assailant then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect seen in surveillance images is described as a black man standing 5'10" to 6' tall weighing 180 pounds with a muscular build.

He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a blue baseball cap and white sneakers. The man had a gray scarf covering his face and blue latex glove on his hands.
