7-Eleven offers $1,000 reward for robbery arrests

PHILADELPHA - January 12, 2013

Police say just after 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 29th two masked men entered the store on the 7700 block of Ogontz Avenue in West Oak lane.

One of them was armed with a long silver handgun.

Surveillance video shows one of the men jumping over the counter and forcing the clerk to open the register.

"As a result of that, they rob the store; they get away with $300 cash and some cigarettes," said John Apeldorn.

7-Eleven is asking for the public's help to catch the two suspects.

"The corporations want these people off the streets. They want to protect their employees along with anybody else that might be going in there doing business," said Apeldorn.

7-Eleven has put together a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

"So we are hoping somebody sees something and somebody knows something," Apeldorn said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Citizens Crime Commission tip line at 215-546-TIPS. All calls remain anonymous.
