Pa. Lottery deal to go before Senate committee

HARRISBURG, Pa. - January 14, 2013

The agenda for Monday's Senate Finance Committee hearing includes Secretary of Revenue Daniel Meuser and executives from Camelot Global Services.

Pennsylvania would join Illinois and Indiana in privatizing lottery management.

Democrat Rob Teplitz says the administration's timing shows contempt for the Legislature and the public. But administration officials say the contract isn't binding until it's executed.

That's expected to happen later this week. They also say awarding the contract means they can reveal more information about the deal that had been kept secret until now.

A court challenge to the deal is pending.
