St. Rep. Cherelle Parker found guilty of DUI

PHILADELPHIA - January 16, 2013

Police say Parker was pulled over in the Germantown section of the city back in April of 2011 for driving the wrong way along a one-way street.

According to police, she failed a breathalyzer test.

A judge originally threw the case out, but another judge overturned that ruling after discovering the first judge was Facebook friends with Parker.

Parker has been sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in county jail. The case is under appeal.

Parker is a former aide to City Councilwoman Marian B. Tasco, and has represented the 200th District, which includes Mount Airy, Chestnut Hill, Roxborough, and Andorra, since a 2005 special election.
