Man in car accosts two teenage girls in NJ

GLOUCESTER TWP., N.J. - January 18, 2013

The car was caught by a surveillance camera.

In one incident, the man pulled alongside a 16-year-old girl who was walking across the parking lot of the Cherrywood Apartments in Clementon at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say the man tried to talk to the girl but she ignored him. The man then pulled into a parking space ahead of the girl and backed out, partially blocking her path.

The girl continued to ignore the man. She walked away from the car and continued home.

In the other incident, the man got out of his car near the Gloucester Township Recreation Center on Broadacres Drive in Clementon, approached a 17-year-old girl and starting talking to her.

The girl ignored him and eventually the man got back into his car and drove away.

Police describe the man as a dark-skinned black male, approximately 5'6" tall, who spoke with an accent.

The vehicle he was driving, a red or burgundy 4-door vehicle with a New Jersey registration, was photographed by a surveillance camera.

Police say both girls told them there was another man in the car, but neither got a good look at him.

Anyone with information about the man or vehicle is asked to contact the Gloucester Township Police Department at 856-228-4500 or the Gloucester Township Anonymous Tip Line at 856-842-5560.
