State police say the shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in 12000 block of Ryan Lane in Peaceful Acres.
Investigators say two masked men approached the 18-year-old victim, who had gone outside to smoke a cigarette with another man, and shot him several times in the torso.
Police say they believe the teen was targeted by the two gunmen, who fled on foot. The unidentified teen was taken to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md., where he was stable following surgery.
