At least a few inches covered a several-block span of Melrose Avenue.
Light rain fell and cars ventured slowly as flooding was spotty throughout the city.
"No rescues, no evacuations or 9-1-1 calls," said Tom Foley, Atlantic City Director of Emergency Management.
Foley says the city was spared by a quick-moving storm and cooperating winds.
"Flooding is down because winds turned northwest. Now you can see its snowing but apparently we're okay," said Foley.
Not many braved the boardwalk but those who did, were bundled up.
While the city seems to be doing okay for now, officials are keeping their eyes to the sky - a Saturday morning high tide is the next chance for street flooding.
"Around 9:00 we're anticipating minor flooding. If the wind stays northwest it'll be low tide, it shouldn't be a problem but we're keeping an eye on it," said Foley.
So far there has been no major damage - a well-deserved break for a city deeply damaged by Superstorm Sandy.
