Pennsylvania prepares for winter storm

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - March 6, 2013

The National Weather Service is forecasting up to a foot for higher elevations between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh on Wednesday as the storm moves west to east. The heaviest snowfall is expected to be in south-central Pennsylvania. Snow is expected to be heavy in many areas during the morning commute.

A winter storm warning has been issued for southern Pennsylvania counties, with anywhere from 4 inches to a foot forecast.

The storm is expected to taper off to the north, with Philadelphia expecting a few inches. Pittsburgh could get 6 to 8 inches and Harrisburg could get a half-foot.
